Peter Rejto and I will fly in to OSH this Thursday in a Piper Malibu Mirage, courtesy of Larry Chambles. Many AMPA members met Larry in 2007 when he joined us for the Qld fly away.
The big news is OSH has had 12 inches of rain over the past week and the North 40 parking and camping area is said to resemble a lake, complete with resident ducks. OSH was closed on Sunday to all arriving aircraft due to lack of parking space.
OSH opened for part of yesterday to arriving aircraft but it seems much of the area is still very wet. There are a half dozen airports in the vicinity which are now accepting aircraft, so I guess many visitors will elect to land somewhere othEr than OSH. We figure things will be better by Thurs, but we have a secret plan. More later.
